The Third Estate voted to establish the National Assembly, it would end absolute monarchy. It would start representative government. -
Locked out
The Third Estate delegates were locked out of the meeting, and broke into an indoor tennis court. Here, they made a new constitution known as the Tennis Court Oath. -
Bastille Day
People stormed Bastille after hearing a rumor that Louis was going to use military forces to dismiss the National Assembly. As a result, they stormed the Bastille prison. -
Fleeing France
The royal family attempts to flee France to the Austrain Netherlands. They didn't suceed, they were caught by guards on the border. -
A new constitution
The National Assembly finished the new constitution, which basically striped the king of his power. But reluctant Louis approved it. -
The new legislative body
The Legislative Assembly was made in response to the new constitution. It had the power to make laws and approve or reject declarations of war. -
Declaration of war
France declares war on Austria and Prussia. This was result of Austria and Prussia urged Louis to be an absolute monarch. -
Invasion
20,000 men and woman invaded the Tuileries, a palace were the royal family stayed. They royal family was captured and improsioned. -
Goodbye Monarchy
The National Convention took office. It declared France a republic. -

The Convention found Louis guilty, so he was to be beheaded. He was beheaded by the guillotine. -
Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror begins. This is the time of Maximilien Robespierre's rule. -
The end of the Terror
The terror ends with Robespierre being executed and guillotined. This was ordered by the National Convention. -
A new constitution
France creates yet another constitution. It would eventually lead to a new government. -
Napoleon gets his chance
Napoleon is handed an opportunity to defend the delegates. He succeeded. -

The Directory is the new government in France. It is the third new government plan since 1789. -

Napoleon successfully beat Austrians in a battle. His army was considered unbeatable. -
Pact
England, Russia, and Italy sign a pact against France. This may have been because of Napoleon's actions. -

Napoleon and his army achieve success in Egypt. This could lead to him becoming a leader. -
Napoleon comes to power
Napoleon takes over the Directory, seizing political power. This is said to be the end of the Revolution.
