  • King Louis the XVI calls the Estates General

    On July 1789 Comptroller-General Lomiene de Brienne proposes an idea to the Parliament du Paris to register the tax property on all three estates, They refused. This created a year long bloody war between the royal government and the parliaments. Then on July 5, 1788, Louis XVI finally gives in to the demands of the nobility and called a edict calling the Estates General to meet in May
  • Tennis Court Oath

    The new clamed National Assembly woke up the next morning to find there meeting hall locked. At the suggestion of the delegates they moved to a nearby tennis court where they created The Tennis Court Oath. Louis hearing rumors about this oath callled a meeting of all three orders. King Louis ordered for the third estate to disperse. They refused and one of the delegates declared "We are here at the will of people, .... and .... shall not stir from are seats unless forced to do so by bayonets."
  • Storming of the Bastille

    On the 14 of July 1789 an large angry mob stormed the Bastille. The Bastille was a prison that looked like a medival castle. Luckily the mobs numbers overwelmed the heavily armed guards. In the end this was a big win for the rebelion because not only did they find loads of ammunition and weapons such as muskets, the 7 prisoners they set free became an icon to the french rebelion.
