    He was crowned king June 11th 1775 at the age of 20. He was the grandson of louis XV. His father died of tuberculosis at age 36 before he could be crowned. This left Louis XVI next in line for the throne. Louis XVI was executed on January 21st, 1793.

    A huge mob marched to the Bastille to take guns and prisoners that were said to be there, When they got in, there were only a few prisoners unlike the hundreds they thought were in there. 98 attackers and 1 defender died in the fighting.

    Representatives of the French people organized as the National Assembly. This document was very much like our Declaration of Independence. It contained articles such as; men are born and remain free and equal in rights and as all persons are held innocent until they shall have been declared guilty.

    Marie Antoinette was the Archduches of Austria and later became the Queen of France. She wasn't very popular with the people of France because she used a lot of money for her own personal satisfaction. Before the execution she was driven through Paris in an open cart. Her last words were "Pardon me sir, I meant not to do it".
