Even though the first and second estates had been invited to the meeting but neither estates had came. Instead of giving up the third estate had went to a tennis court in the area and had there meeting.The National Assembly members had taken the Tennis Court Oath. The Tennis Court Oath was an oath pledging to make a new constitution.

Many angry civilians had gathered searching for gun powder and prisoners. Basically all of the prisionesrs had been imprisioned by the King Louis XVI. People from his own army had join the mob. Many people had thought it'll be a minor attack. The entire city had been destroyed.

Maximilien Robespierre, the leader of the Jacobin Club, became the head of the Committee of Public Safety for the National Convention. He was free to decide who France’s enemies were. Some of these people were revolutionary leaders who had put his power to the test. Other people were killed for things that weren't serious. Robespierre targeted many people.
