The Estates General was called by Louise XVI for the first time in over 150 years to try and help with the money problem. He lost all the money when they send it all to help win the war, but they lost the war, along with all there money.

King Louie called a assembly to try and fix their money problem, even though it was his grandpas fault. His solution was to try and get the peasants an bourgeoisie to pay more taxes.

Because King Louie wouldn't let the votes per population count that meant that the peasants always lost. So when this happened during the estates general,all the peasants left. So they found a tennis court to go in and formally adopted the tittle of national assembly themselves, they then took the oath to force the king in to a new constitution , almost all the clerical deputies, and 47 of the liberal nobles had joined them. So June 27 Louise the 16th changed it in to the new assembly.

They met in the tennis court and made a law ant then forced king Louie to change the law that made it mandatory for peasants to pay all the taxes was and update it and changed it so that the government didn't just run anything, and that the peasants got to have a large say in everything.

To make there point and scare king Louie and his army they got together and stormed the prison to free the prisons in the prison. there were about 80 guards guarding the prison, the guy who was in charge tried to keep them out by closing the draw bridge, but they got in and they took him captive and later beheaded him.
