The Growth of Hippies and Counterculture
Counterculture was a social change where people passed off their responsibilities and delved into a sexual, drug full, peaceful lifestyle. It spread across the world and expanded as it protested the Vietnam War, Draft, President Kennedy's assassination and President Nixon. This is the counterculture in 8.3.2.A. -
Kennedy's Assassination
President Kennedy is assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. The citizens of the US were enraged as he had a large support base. This helped to birth Counterculture. Link text -

After his acceptance into office, LBJ set forth many policies to try to help the US socially, economically and environmentally which became known as the Great Society. Moon Landing And the Space Race
The Soviet Union and the US were engaged in a race for the moon. The Soviets sent a drone that reached the moon first however the US soon followed with the first humans to walk on the moon. Woodstock

Watergate Scandal and Nixon's Resignation
Richard Nixon was caught with ties to a break in at the Democratic Party center, the Watergate Hotel, and was charged accordingly. He was forced to resign and people became less trusting of the government. He wanted former FBI and CIA agents to break in to help him get reelected. Apple was founded on April 1st by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. They wanted to make smaller and more affordable computers. Their first computer used a typewriter like keyboard and hooked up to a TV. This is the technology found in 9.2.2.B. Link text
