    In the book it states “According to Brian Halwell, a researcher for WorldWatch, vitamin C has declined by 20 percent, iron by 15 percent, riboflavin by 38 percent, and calcium by 16 percent"(health5.3) this here goes to show that nutrients we consume in the US have started to decline due to the fact that manufactures are producing less nutrients in foods.

    In the book it states “So we are now getting less nutrition per calorie in our foods. In essence, we have to eat more food to get the same vitamin and mineral content"(health5.3) due to the fact that our manufactures are not producing enough nutrients in our food we as humans have to eat twice as much food to get enough nutrients our body needs.

    In the book it states "“Today's dietary supplements include vitamins, minerals, herbals and botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, and many other products"(health2.3) My friend's mom suggested that her daughter take vitamins because all her daughter did was eat unhealthy. Her daughter would eat junk food from day to day and she also hated to go outside in the sun. This was very bad for the girl because she wasn't getting vitamins and nutrients from food or the sun.
