Gilgamesh civilized Enkidu and traveled with him on a quest for fame and glory. Their actions upset the gods, resulting in the early death of Enkidu. Gilgamesh, terrified of his mortality finds Utanapishtim and asks for the secret of immortality which he does not have and then the story ends with Gilgamesh returning to Uruk.
