Film making skills

    Prelim film
This is my prelim film, which is a clip from Bad Eduaction. We did not use a plan or any titles but we did use a variety of camera shots such as match cuts and we used a soundtrack. As this was our first media project, you will find that camera work is not as good as our final title sequence and the acting may not be as good or rehearsed. Teamwork was probably minimial here as we didn't know each other too well here and our decision making probably wasn't as good as the final project.
  • Group 10!

    Group 10!
Group 10 is formed. Group 10 consists of Me, Jack and Tim. At this point we didn't really know each other so oue teamwork may not have been as strong as it is by the end of the project. I had little decision making at this point because we had only just formed the group.
  • Shooting the film

    Shooting the film
This was the beginning of our film shooting, which took place at WAC Arts and took us a total of 4 hours to film all the footage we needed. When filming we remembered lighting, 180degree rule and we used match cutting.

    Shooting the film

Between this time we did our filming for the title sequence at the location of a acting school named WAC Arts. The filming didn't take too long because we where able to film in a friendly environment and there weren't too many shots to cover. Our group used a lot of teamwork and we all had lots of decision making and was also independent

    Shooting the film

The film was also shot here too on these dates at WAC Arts in Belsize park. It took us only 2 sessions to film all our shots for our title sequence. We correctly used our camera skills to create the professional title sequence such as correct lighting, match cutting, and the 180 degree rule.

    Editing the film

Between these dates we edited together all of our footage to mkae our final pieces of the title sequence. This did take quite long because after each rough cut we had things that we could improve. Our group did lots of independent work when editing and we also worked together as a group when editing or completing blog posts. The deadline was the 6th and we was able to complete the editing before the deadline.
  • first editing draft

    first editing draft
This was the first rough editing draft of our title sequence. We chose the best pieces of film to edit from the shots we took and put them together without adding any transitions, filters or titles yet.
  • second editing draft

    second editing draft
This is the second editing draft of our title sequence. We started to add in transititons and filters here and made the footage fit together more professional looking. We still did not put on titles yet. Here we also put up our own sound/soundtrack which we created from garageband.
  • Third editing draft

    Third editing draft
This was our third and last editing draft. The titles are now up along with the transitions and other editing techniques. The final version is almost complete!
  • Film is complete!!!

    Film is complete!!!
The title sequence has finally been editied for the last time a day before the deadline. Comparing this project to the prelim, i think we have massively improved because our title sequence used better camera skills/techniques using better match cuts and the 180degree rule. The editing trnaisitions look more professional than our first prelim film. The sounds used was our own and not a sound that already exsists like our prelim film and we used our own titles unlike our prelim film.

    Evaluation (What we learnt)

This is the end of the project where we look back on what went well and what could have gone better. Overrall, i have learnt how to use many different tyes of software such as; Garageband, final cut pro, motion, prezi, etc. The hardware i have learnt to use are the Apple Macs, the JVC camera, the tripod, etc. Our film looked professional because we used the correct lighting, the 180degree rule, sounds which we created ourselves, appropraite titles and we edited the best we could.
