These are types of print media, a medium which disseminates information on printed materials.
Our parents own some of these when we were kids and we usually read or write on it.
This type of media is important in spreading information and has a wide variety of uses like commercial or others. -
Television
Television (TV) is a telecommunication medium used for transmitting moving images in monochrome (black and white), or in color, and in two or three dimensions and sound.
We were exposed to television as kids watching kid shows ,cartoons, and news our parents watch.
This type of media is brought by the development of technology and is still improving currently. -
Radio
Radio is the technology of using radio waves to carry information, such as sound, by systematically modulating properties of electromagnetic energy waves transmitted through space, such as their amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width.
We got exposed through this when our grandparents and relatives use them.
This type of media is more common on adults for it mostly broadcast news from many places. -
Films
Film, also called a movie, motion picture, theatrical film, or photoplay, is a series of still images that when shown on a screen create an illusion of motion images.
When around age 6, we already have seen movies, some for kids and some are realistic.
This type of media can convey many different information, messages, and lessons in the form of storytelling. -
Computer
A computer is a device that can be instructed to carry out arbitrary sequences of arithmetic or logical operations automatically.
We usually use computers for playing games, we got exposed to them on our parents workplace and in computer shops.
The ability of computers to follow generalized sets of operations, called programs, enables them to perform an extremely wide range of tasks. This what makes computer one of the best gifts of the improvement of modern technology. -
The Internet
It is global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.
At age around 8, we just use the internet to play games on different websites.
The internet carries a very wide range of resources and services which is very beneficial to people. -
Cellphone
A mobile phone, known as a cell phone in North America, is a portable telephone that can make and receive calls over a radio frequency link while the user is moving within a telephone service area.
Our parents used to have these and we just borrow them for its games feature.
A cellphone is pretty handy because it is small but has very useful features such as a clock, calendar, messaging, voice call, and etc. -
Social Media
Social media are computer-mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks.
At around age 10, we learned to use social media, like facebook. We use this in connecting with friends, playing games, or sharing status.
Social media is very important nowadays for it can be used for many ways and it is very easy. It can be used to communicate in a global range in just seconds. -
Smartphones and Tablets
A smartphone is a handheld personal computer with a mobile operating system and an integrated mobile broadband cellular network connection for SMS, and Internet data communication; most also support Wi-Fi.
We and our parents use this instead of the previous keypad cellphone from then till now because it can offer a lot more features, including the using the internet and camera.
This is pretty important for a person for it is handy, easy to bring and also very useful. -
Combined Media
Now as young adults, information plays a vital role in our lives. And in search for true information, we combine the use of all those media for gathering information or using the services they provide us. Through this, we never get outdated on information and also it keeps the different types of media alive.
