    After a log ride in the immigration ship we finally sail into the New York harbor. The first thing we see is the statue of liberty. On our way to america my mother came in contact with her cousin James Mcdonald. We found out he lives in New York and invited us to stay with him.

    After a few months in New York we couldnt find jobs so my family and james moved to the pennsylvania foothills. There we joined a community of Irish immigrants.

    After being with the other irish immigrants in pennsylvania me and my family heard people talking about free land in the west. So we took up the oppurtunity and went to the train station the next day.

    After a couple years after getting to america me and my family finally have the oppurtunity to have land of our own. From working in New York we have saved up enough money for train tickets.

    After a few weeks of traveling west by train me and m family made it to teh west. When we got there, there were many other people waiting to get their handa on free land. The next day was going to be the race for land. The next day when the day of race was tense. So many people yet not enoughland to go around. Luckily i was one of the faster ones so i got my pick on what peice of land i wanted. So after such a long journey of immigrating to america i had finally gotten what i came here for.
