    Invention of the Pocket Watch
Peter Henlein, the inventor of the pocket watch regularly produced pocket watches as early as 1524. This device was highly reliable at the time as it was one of the only ways to read time. The dial was either composed of metal or enamel. The watch was round, but in some cases it was egg-shaped. The chain as well most of the watch was made up of brass.

    Levers innovated in Pocket Watches
In the early years of the pocket watch it seemed mostly reliable. But in some cases it was not accurate and it could be off by a couple hours. By 1820, levers were implemented in watches in order to improve their accuracy. This improvement was extremely helpful as inaccuracies were only off no more than two minutes.
