    King Louie had a meeting to deal with a financial crisis the 1st and 2nd Estates would always agree to leave the 3rd Estate losing every vote delegates for the 3rd Estate propose that each delegate representing 1 of 3 Estates would have a vote the number of delegates for the first estate was the same as for the 2nd and 1st combined, gave peasants&bourgeoisie an advantage and it was fairer since 3rd Estate was 97% of the population.
  • The Estates-General

    The Third Estate became more convinced of its entitlement to liberty. Seeing that neither the king nor the other estates would acquiesce to its requests, the Third Estate began to organize within itself and recruit actively from the other estates. On June 17, 1789, bolstered by communitywide support, the Third Estate officially broke away from the Estates-General and proclaimed itself the National Assembly. In so doing, it also granted itself control over taxation.

    The Tennis Court Oath was a pivotal event during the first days of the French Revolution. The Oath was a pledge signed by 576 of the 577 members from the Third Estate who were locked out of a meeting of the Estates-General on 20 June 1789.
