    202 BCE: Hannibal crosses the Alps with troops on elephants to attack Romebut has to turn back and is defeated at Carthage

    Hannibal knew that elephants could be ordered to charge, climbing over the Alps was a feat in itself using elephants he was able to quietly climb over the Alps and charge into battle. This was important because if Hannible would have taken Rome over their empire wouldnt be as vast as it is today.

    270 BCE: Romans control all of Italy.

    Romes conquest in Italy was the start of many wars and even more conquest. Without that starting point Romes empire would'nt have been as vast and succsesful as it was.

    312 BCE: First highways and aqueducts are built.

    The Romans constructed many aqueducts in order to bring water in from distant sources. The water supplyed bath water, fountains, private households, etc. Aqueducts were a big advancment in the Roman community. Withyout their invention we may not have the intricate sewage and water systems we have today.

    450 BCE: Twelve tables of Roman law are written.

    The Twelve tables was the earliest atempt for the Romans to create laws. In 455 BCE a group of 10 me were appointed to come up with laws binding trhe social classes. This event was important because it aloud for a more equal economic status between social classes.

    753 BCE: Romulus and Remus found the city of rome according to legend

    This event was important because it gave the Romans an interesting legend about how their city was made. The story was also told to all Roman children to teach them the importance of not being greedy.

    According to legend Romulus and Remus were twin brothers abandoned by their mother. They were put into a basket and sent down the Tiber river. The basket went down the river until they were found by a female wolf. The wolf nursed them back to helth until they were found by a sherpered who raised them. When the twins were adults they want to find the city where their mother abonded them. The brothers fought over who would be the ruler and eventually Romulus killed Remus and called the city Rome.
  • 43 BCE: Cicero, a Roman Senator and philosopher, is murdered by MarkAntony.

    After Caesar's death Cicero became an enemy of Mark Antony's to avenge his death Antony killed Cicero. This event was important because it was the beginning of revenge againt the senators.
  • 49 BCE: Julius Caesar seizes complete control of Rome as a dictator.

    Caesar being appointed as the dictator of Rome, made sure that all f its empire was potected by good military services. And this event also lead to some more deppresing events. Thi event was importan because it changed the way Rome worked in the way of Goverment.
  • 58-52 BCE: Julius Caesar conducts the Gallic wars against Gaul.

    In the spring of 58 Bce 2 Gallic tribes joined together to take over Gaul, France, Just before that Caesar was appointed govener of Cisalpine and Narbonese Gaul. After the tribes started to move ino Gaul thretaning Italy Caesr had to move in and concur it himself. This event is important because it was Caesar's first chance to prove he was a leader without him him Italy would be very diffrent.
