  • Choices

My parent's got divorced and I had to choose which one to live with. It determined my future and who I have grown up to be.
  • Work

My mom was able to take me to her work whenever she needed to so I was able to spend time with older kids who spoke English and that exposed me to the English language and culture. I also formed a strong bond with those kids.
  • Sister

My step-mom had a daughter and she is my sister, I have watched her grow and it has helped me see what the process is like.
  • Testing

I did not know I was going to test to try to get into Oxford, but I took the test. I got mad at my mom but it made me see and understand that she just wants what is best for me.
  • Acceptance

I got accepted into Oxford. It will shape and has shaped the next 6 years of my life after that.
  • Mexico

I went to Mexico and saw how many kids had to live in the same house. Made me appreciate what I have even more.
  • Bus

I had to ride the public bus by myself for the first time. It showed me that I really depend on my parent's for a lot more things than I thought I did.
