The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence (DOI) declared our indepence on July 4th, 1776. It was originally drafted by Thomas Jefferson between June 1st and June 28th, 1776. He wrote it so that the USA could become an independent country after we broke away from England. -
The initial creation / signing of the U.S. Constitution
The US constitution is our contries set of laws. Before wee had the constitution we had the Articloes Of Confederation (AOC). The AOC was not a good set of laws and almost destroyed us. So we wrote the constituion to make our country better. If we didnt have it our country would be a wreck. -
Indian Removal Act
On May 28th 1830 the indian removak act was signed congress. It gave president Andrew Jackson the ability to negotiate with them about moving. When they refused, they were forcibly moved. -

California Gold Rush
The California gold Rush started when a farmer found a gold nugget in a river. Many poeople bagan to travel to California in search of more gold. People saw new oportunites with being rich. It wasn't easy to get to the gold however. People had to go on long miserable journeys, risking their lives. If they hadn't though, we would be where we are today with our money/gold system. -

WWII (World War II)
WWII had 2 "teams". One team, the axis power consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan. The allies were France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and (to a lesser extent) China. Our side (the allies) won. That was a great victory for the US. And although it was a war, and war isnt good, we solved arguments and ultimately became better. -

Cuban Missile Crisis
In October 1962 President John F. Kennedy was told that a U-2 spy-plane was discovered of Soviet nuclear-tipped missiles in Cuba. If we wouldnt have found this there would be a great chance that our country couldve been destroyed. Also Cuba couldve taken over and we would lose our rights and freedom. -
Apollo 11 landing on the moon
In 1969 a group, Apollo 11, went to the moon. When the few men were there they got "lunar material" and brought it back to earth. If they wouldnt have done that we wouldnt have some of the information we have today.That ouldve greatly affected how our country/world all came togther. -
My Birthday
I was born in Lancaster county. My family is basically divided into 2 because of my parents divorce. I have my dads side and my moms side. Now in my life as an 8th grader I love to shoot my pistol and my bow. I also love food and sleep. -
Terrorist attacks of September 11
September 11th or 9/11 was a horrible day for america. It wasnt that long ago. It was in 2001. Terroists bombed the twin towers and the Pentagon. Even though it was a horrible day it brought us closer together. I believe we learned to work together as a country as tons of people helped others in need.
