Digital technologies task

  • Prelim & Match cut excercises

    Digital Technologies Used:
Final Cut Pro This is what we first had done at the beginning of AS and was my introduction to Final Cut Pro. We had been given multiple clips showing different shots of the same scene in which we had to match cut and make the final piece appear seemless. This involved adding transitions such as fades and dissolves and was a vague introduction to Final Cut Pro.
  • BAIT Tutorial (Camera introduction)

    Digital Technologies used:
    Camera
Memory card Our BAIT tutorial/camera introduction was compulsory to do before we started filming, the technicians had shown us a video of how to put in the memory card and attach the camera to tripod. As well as this I was introduced how to turn the camera on, adjust the focus and zoom and soom of the different settings that the camera can use.
  • Prelim activity

    Digital Technologies used:
    Camera
Final Cut Pro This was my first task which involved filming and editing, we had learned about some rules of filming just before this such as the 180 degree rule.
  • Swede

    Digital Technologies used:
    Prezi (pitch)
    Camera
    Final Cut Pro
Internet (Youtube and social media) The swede was our first serious task in which involved us filming and editing as well as this we had to first create a pitch in which we'd discuss what we would do in the pitch. For the pitch we used Prezi(online application) and got research of what would be expected from youtube video. After we had put the different shots into FCP and simply constructed the swede. As for creativity there

wasn't any, as it was the first actual task I wasn't prepared to innovate and so we hadn't added any filters or transitions so we only included match cuts.

    AS Blogging

    Digital Technologies used:
    Blogger
Online applications (Prezi, Slideshare, Emaze ect)
    Handbrake
Internet (youtube) With Blogging it didn't require me to use FCP and Cameras but was more just something to feature all of the research and work I had done, this was mainly presented with online applications. This helped neatly present everything and not have it all in the blog format in which it becomes very clunky and a lot less presentable.
  • The Breakfast Club opening remake

    Digital Technologies used:
    Camera
Final Cut Pro For my Breakfast Club opening remake I had started to innovate more and include some creativity in the forms of transitions. In addition filming and editing had made me more comfortable in Final Cut Pro and so was able to do more than what I had done in the swede which was very basic.

    Teen film opening

    Digital Technologies used:
    Final Cut Pro
Camera The opening was apart of our coursework in which we had to film, edit and produce an actual piece of work which was to be a teen film opening. This was where I first had to really use my FCP skills and use transitions, filters and input custom media (such as text). Doing all this helped me become more experieneced within FCP.

    A2 Blogging

    Digital Technologies used:
    Blogger
    Online applications
Internet I took blogging this year a lot more seriously wanting to make sure everything was carefully organised and presentable, but as well as this I wanted to make sure there was more detail and effort put into blogging, I started slow but was soon able to produce very high quality blogs a lot faster than before. I did lack consistancy throughout abit of the year but manage to clean up on it fast.

    Music video

    Digital Technologies used:
    Camera
Final Cut Pro With all the previous experience I had had with Final Cut Pro I was excited with editing my music video, I used a lot of transitions, even go as far as mixing 3 to create one. The lip syncing was not hard to sync and was more dependant on the footage being correct. We had also used a lot of camera movement in our music video as it suited the genre very well.
  • Lip sync tutorial

    Digital Technologies used:
    Camera
Final Cut Pro This was our first introduction with editing for a music video, lip syncing was going to be an essential part of the music video. This was a very basic lesson in which we had to record a 50second clip of our artist lip syncing to a song given to us. It wasn't too complex but did allow me to easily pick up on how to lip sync.

    Ancillary productions (Digipak & Advert)

    Digital Technologies used:
    Camera
Software The ancillary wasn't hard for me as I was extremely fimilar and confident in using photoshop due to using it before. All I needed was pictures of our artist (which at first was a little hard to get but once I had them the rest of the digipak was done and ready to be finished. I enjoyed doing the digipak as I still manage to learn on the conventions of a digipak and advertisement.
