Development of technology

  • Research stage

At the start of the coursework I used basic websites for my research such as prezi, moodboard, yougov profiler and emaze as well as writing straight onto the blog.
  • Filming stage

    Filming stage
During the filming stage the main piece of technology that was used was the video camera. We had the help of other non technological equipment such as a tripod and figrig to make sure the shots aren't shaky. We also used Premiere Pro to try out colour grading on the shots we already had. We liked how this looked on our video so in the finished product we put the saturation down to the lowest to make the shots black and white as well as keeping the natural colour.

During this time we cut and added in shots to fit. While editing the music video we tested out fonts which were alike to other grime videos, female and male artists. In the end we picked a font that we though fit well in the synergy of the video. We also changed the colour of some shots. This was done because we had a black and white colour theme through the clothing and we wanted to apply it into the shots as well so we put the saturation down to the lowest to get black and white shots.

    Ancillary Tasks research/planning
Once I started the ancillary work, I used moodboards to show ideas for my digipak and website that I wanted in the finished product. I also researched into font types on dafont.com that weren't the same as the one in the video because I felt like in the digipak and website I could use something more grime like. I also made hand drawn flat plans of what I wanted my ideas to come together and look like.

    Production process of digipak (photoshop)
To make my digipak I used photoshop. I added the images into the template for the digipak and added font, changed the colours of the text and image and added in a shape for where the CD would be.
  • Production of website (weebly.com)

For my website I used a template off weebly.com and added in my own images, font and colour scheme. I still kept the black and white colour scheme we agreed to use at the start of the planning of the music video. I kept the same colour scheme because I wanted to show a clear link between my main and ancillary texts.
