    Sparta won the war giving them ultimate power in Greece. This lead to many arguments between the Greek city states. After the war Greece's population decreased, this led to finacial difficulties. Taxes were increased to help with the financial problems. Taxes raise in presnt days too. If the government needs more funds they raise the taxes so that the citizens money goes towards the government.

    Cleisthenes, an athenian statesman, proposed a constitution that turned Athens into a democracy. After his proposal voting rights for all free adult men were extended and a council of 500 members was created. He gave all citizens a chance to serve in the government. These changes have impacted our government because nowadays have a government where we vote for someone to represent us and make decisions for us in a "council" like setting.

    Athens did not want any crimes, they wanted complete peace. Draco, a legislator for Athens, created harsh laws to keep Athens in line. People beleive they were almost too harsh therefore a statesman by the name of Solon decided to make them more humane. It made Athens a safer place filled with peace, It has helped us come up with laws of our own that keep our world happier.

    Tyrants in ancient Greece were usually upper class men that wanted all the power. They manipulated poorerer classes by making promises to them that they couldn't always complete like: redistribution of land and cancellations. Power made them treat others unfairly. The greeks were tired of being treated this was so they tried to create a more organized system that lead to fair treatment and has kept us free even nowadays.

    The Spartans didn't keep any records or written laws so they passed down their laws from generation to generation. They thought it was important every citizen to be treated equally and for every one to have a voice in government. In the present day we agree with those statements and have laws encouraging them. We also have similar laws based on things we cannot do such as stealing.
