    The inspiration

    Magellan first was first going on expeditions for Portugal. He then wanted to go on a trip around the world, but the King at that time wouldn't allow him. Magellan then tried Spain because he had heard about Christopher Columbus' attempt and decided it to be a good place to go. He was right because the Spanish King gave him an armada of fivge ships.

    Me and about 280 oother men split into five ships began our long journey to try and make it around the world.Our captain, Magellan, is from another counrty and most of us do not really like him.

    Reaching Brazil

    Reaching Brazil
    Today we reached the coast of Brazil. The natives here are very friendly. They greeted us and made trades of trinkets for fresh fruit and meat. Our captain felt pretty proud because he felt that he had converted the natives to christianity.

    Puerto San Julian
    Our ships arrived at Puerto San Julian. At first everything was quiet, but 3 days after arriving, Easter Mutiny broke out. It started when Magellan named the natives Patagonians, meaning "Big Feet".

    All we eat old biscuits. They have been reduced to powder. They are full of grubs. They stink from dirt that rats had made while eating the good birscuit. We also ate ox hide that was hard from the sun, rain and winds.

    Today we reached what we call, "The Strait of Magellan". The strait is located between South America and Tierra del Fuego. While in the strait we visited 5 different places in 9 days.

    Our Arrival
