  • End of the Old Regime

    During 1789 the common people of France decided to speak up because they were impacted by the independence of the american colonists and there strength when working together. The common people noticed they had no voice and spoke against that and spoke according to the ideas of John Locke, according to Modern world History book the Old regime was dead by the morning.

    Attempted Escape from the Royal Family
    During 1791 the common people had gained more power and support within the country which forced many royal family supporters to advice the King to flee the country and even fled themselves. During June the King noticed it had become unsafe to stay in France and decided to flee to Austrian Netherlands but was caught and apprehended near the border and was returned to Paris under the common people influence.

    After the apprehension of King Luise XVI he was forced to sign a new constitution which stripped the monarchs power significantly and created the Legislative Assembly which was able to create laws and had final say in whether a war would happen or not. Yet the monarch still had executive power to enforce law and order.

    The war was not very pleasant for France since they were loosing greatly since the Prussians had rapidly advanced towards the doors of Paris and threaten to destroy it if any of the Royal Family members were harmed, this enraged the French men which led them to form an army of 20,000 woman and men which fought against the Prussians since they would not take those threats from other country.

    The Guillotine
    In France the executions in public places where common and attract large groups of people since it was use as a way to gain pleasure or make a public statement but in 1792 the Guillotine was introduced, it was a large weapon used to execute people and cut of there heads while doing it. It was became a common attraction and still attracted large crowds but some spectators were unpleased of the new invention since the quick execution became unpleasant.

    During April 1792 the Legislative Assembly declared war to the Prussians since they were known to have become allies with the royal family time before the revolution began
  • The United Country's against France

    After the execution of King Louis XVI, Great Britain, holland and Spain Joined Prussians and Austria in the war against France. The French suffered a great defeat but the helped them gain support from the civilians and created a large army of 800,000 men and woman.
  • The Reign of Terror

    Because of the vulnerability and weakness in Paris Maximillian Robespierre assumed power over France and with him began the reign of terror. Robespierre completely ceased the church's power in France and declared it an enemy including all of it ideas and it's followers. He executed every single person who opposed him and justified this terrible actions with the idea of doing it to make people remain true to the revolutionists ideas.

    King and the Guillotine
    By the end of 1792 the presence of King Louie XVI became more unpleasant than ever and his attempt to escape drove people to speak to the Assembly and made them assure the death of King Louis XVI was near. In January, 21, 1793 King Louis was executed publicly by a Guillotine.
  • The End of Terror

    The Legislative Assembly became concerned of loosing support of the people because of the irrational actions of Robespierre and demanded his arrest and execution, Robespierre try to fight but lost and was executed by a guillotine in July, 28, 1794.
