    Walt Disney was developing the story of Pinocchio in 1940. The movie was released in February 7, 1940. It was about a wooden puppet who dreamed to become a real boy. He was prone to telling lies, and when he does, his nose extends. Pinocchio has appeared in many adaptations in other media.

There were massive attacks, continuous battles, and destruction that occurred during this period. The Japanese also introduced a new government and founded the Philippine Executive Commission.

Japanese assembled about 78,000 prisoners (12,000 U.S. and 66,000 Filipino). The men, already desperately weakened by hunger and disease, suffered unspeakably during the March. Regardless of their condition, POWs who could not continue or keep up with the pace were summarily executed.Thousands perished in what became known as the Bataan Death March.

Many of the members were prosecuted after the war for the atrocities they committed against the people.

The Russians photographed the remains and then reburied them twice in secret locations.

When the Philippines gained independence from the United States on July 4, 1946, Roxas became the first president of the new republic.
