  • We made it

    We made it
We had floated into the Port 7 days ago and we had been waiting to enter America, waiting on Ellis Island. nothing had gone wrong ecxept my brother had come down with a cold, nothing big, it was getting better but they wouldn't let him through so we had to wait for him to get better. the wait was boring there wasn't much to do, the kids were shy, most didn't speak engish. it was scary not knowing what they were saying, if they were talking about me.
  • In America

    In America
America was not how i imagined. there were people everywhere. begging, sltealing, asking if u wanted a job or a place to live. but now we had no money all we had were a few sliver valuables; necklaces, spoons and rings. we sold them for 20$ which would be enough until we get jobs. we found a place that would let us live there for a 1$ a week Soon we would run out of money. soon we'd get jobs, but now i just wanted to sleep.
  • A New Year

    A New Year
We were sitting in our small room that we’ve been living in for about 7 months now and we had a fire burning and we were snuggling next to it. We all had jobs and we had a stable supply of money so we were thinking about geting a horse and a wagon for when we went to Oklahoma Territory for our share of land.
  • We Got Land!

    We Got Land!
We were on a train to Oklahoma, we had a horse and a wagon that would be pulled our other horse. My brother would race ahead to find some non claimed land for us while me and Mary would lead the wagon after him. Once we finally caught up to him he was sitting on the ground next to our flag. We hopped out of our wagon and ran over to hug my brother. The land was beautiful! I could here other horsemen cursing and riding off to find other land, my brother had gotten here first!
  • Settling Down

    Settling Down
Neil was on the roof pounding in the last of the roof while Mary and I were sitting on our newly build porch snuggling in our warm clothes watching the neighbohrs off in the distance finish up their homes so they could settle down for the winter. We watched the garden blooming with the last harvest for the year.
