  • constitution 1824

    Constitution of 1824, was somewhat related to the U.S. constitution but was more based off of the Spanish Constitution made in 1812. Also the branches of government that Mexico had was similar in idea to the United States branches of government (2 houses of congress, 4 year presidential term, and a supreme court.)
  • Fredonian rebellion

    The Fredonian Rebellion was a dispute between Mexican government on April,14,1825, and the Edwards brothers Haden and Benjamin.He got a grant to settle 800 families in east texas there were already people living there when he came and said that they would pay him or move that offended them that did not go well with mexico and they stripped his contract.
  • Mier Y Teran Report

    In 1827 Mier Y Teran was to lead a scientific and boundary expedition into Texas which was ordered to him by President Guadalupe Victoria. Their job was to observe the Native Indians and natural resources, also to determine the United States- Mexico boundary between the Red and Sabine River. They left Mexico City in November of 1827 and was escorted to Texas by the Military.

    Guerrero Decrero abolished slavery through the republic of mexico It was not fully understood why he Issued this law but it was thought that he thought that it would be a check on america immagration.He was with held it was a violation of the colonization law.
  • The Law of April 6, 1830

    The Law of April 6, 1830 was created to stop the immigration flow from the United States to Texas, which this later turned into the Warning Meir Y Teran Report. The colonists of Texas were greatly shocked by this new law and the fact that Stephen F. Austin was protesting for the law to the Mexican officials and the president. The law also forbade any slavery to come into Mexico and suspend empresario contracts.
  • Conflict at Anahuac

    The ship October,26,1830.Had many problems at started at the mouth of the Galveston Bay, when Anglo settlers Willam Travis and Patrick Jack were arrested.In return for arresting them they captured 19 men of Bradurns that were held captive for a trade of the two men there were many problems with the trade.
  • Turtle Bayou Resolutions

    The Turtle Bayou Resolutions of June 12, 1832 was when the settlers opposed to the rule of Mexico (Commander John Davis Bradburn) fled from Anahuac to the North which crossed to Turtle Bayou. The Texas Rebels had heard news that the federalist army won an important war under the leadership of Santa Anna. The Rebels took advantage of hearing this and sided with the federalist by creating the Turtle Bayou Resolutions. The four resolutions forced Texans to fight under Santa Anna's support.
  • Battle of Velasco

    The Battle of Velasco was held on June 26, 1832. This was the only war that happened between Mexico and Texas that injured and killed others. While this battle was going on Henry Smith and John Austin were out securing a cannon to defeat Mexico with, and others tried to stop them, but finally Mexico surrendered.
  • Convection of 1832

    The Convection of 1832 was held at San Felipe de Austin after the disturbances of Mexico, the Battle of Velasco, and the Turtle and the Bayou Resolutions. The convection requested that changes be made to modify the Law of April 6, 1830 and to allow more immigration from the United States.

    The Convection of 1833 was met on April 1, the day Antonio López de Santa Anna took control of Mexico. William H. Wharton presided over to the convection which was the anti- immigration section of the Law of April 6, 1830. He asked for better defense against Indians, Judicial form, and banned African slave traffic into Texas.
