    Nationalism was a great cause of the War because because countries were being greedy and not negotiating. All the countries wanted to be better than each other and nationalism shows that you are proud of your country and want it to be the best. Nationalism had made a big impact in countries understanding an strength of war.
  • Allianes

    The triple alliance consisted of Germany, Austria Hungry and Italy which were formed in 1882. The triple Entente included Britain France and Russia which were formed in 1907. Making alliances was a disadvantage and at some points an advantage between the global nations.

    Imperialism was where a system where a powerful nation rules one or more colonies. This was a cause of WW1 because Kaiser was humiliated in a conference between France and Germany. He felt determined to fight Britain and France as revenge.

    There was a big increase in military expenditure. The world thought the only way to solve a problem was through military force. All three powers had secret military meetings. There was a lot of military training and preparations that led to the war.

    During the World War 1 Germany sent submarine warfare against the United Kingdom which had implemented a naval blockade of germany. The ship was torpedoed and sank. about 2000 people died that day.

    The zimmerman note was a secret note that was issued from the german foreign office in january 1917. This note proposed an alliance between mexico and Germany before the United States joined the war. Germany promised Mexico land from the United States and when US found the note they were furious.
  • US entry into the war

    The US entered into the war on April 6, 1917. Germany kept attacking any ships that entered into the war zones and many of them were americans. Germany was determined to win its war so it announced unrestricted warfare in war-zone waters. Later in March, Germany sank 4 more of American ships so then President WIlson appeared before congress a called for a declaration of war. Four days later his request was granted and US entered the war.

    The effects of World War I were many. America has become a world industrial leader. The us economy was thriving and the profits were going up. This led to a time period called the roaring twenties. In the war around 16 million people died.

    The Germans had not been allowed to send any of there delegates and anything was decided the had to accept. The Germans had to accept the blame for starting the War. They signed the treaty of Versailles and their military power was reduced.
