    The heir to the throne of the Austio-Hungarian Empire, Franz Ferdinand, was assassinated on this day. Ferdinand was shot by Gavrilo Princip in the city of Sarajevo while his wife and him were on a visit to Bosnia.

    Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia
    The rulers of Austria-Hungary blamed Sebia for the assassination. Austria-Hungry sent a letter to Serbia with demands that Austia-Hungary wanted but Serbia refused to do what the letter wanted.

    Germany agreed to the armistice to withdraw all troops west of the Rhine River, give up weapons, and take back its fleet to the baltic Sea. The war then ended with the signing of the armistice.
