The Australian Force land at Gallipoli with troops from New Zealand, Britain, and France to fight the Turkish. The troops were very crowded on the small beach. They were faced with steep cliffs that they had to climb to get off the beach.
In an effort to take the Dardanelles from the Turkish Ottoman Empire forcing them out of the war. 60,000 Australians and 18,000 New Zealanders were part of thi British force. 26,000 Australians and 7,571 New Zealanders were wounded.
