    This lead to the first attempt to cross Antarctica on foot. This quickly went wrong unfortunately. However, due to Shackleton's resilience, every member of the crew manged to survive the terrifying conditions.
  • Panama Canal is opened

    This marks the official opening of the Panama Canal.
  • First Transcontinental telephone call

    Alexander Graham Bell makes the first phone call across the united states.
  • "The Birth of a Nation" premiers

    This film was highly controversial and a contributing factor to the re-emergence of the KKK
  • United States occupation of Haiti begins

    The United States begins occupying Haiti.
  • The KKK is restarted

    This marks the return of the KKK, a horrible institution which leaves a stain on American history.

    A series of strikes in Petrograd started the Russian Revolution.
  • Strikes Intensify

    Workers join the women and factories are shut down. Czar Nicholas II ordered his troops to break up the crowds with any means, even firing on them. The soldiers however, refused to fire and many actually joined the riots.
  • The Duma meets

    The Duma meets despite the czar's wishes and form the provisional government. They urge the czar to step down.
  • Czar Nicholas II steps down

    The czar no longer had any support and so stepped down ending the riots and the Romanov dynasty.
  • Lenin signs the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk

    This had Russia giving up eastern Poland, Ukraine, Finland, and the Baltic provinces.
