In AD 60 to AD 61, Queen Boudica's husband Prasutagus ruled as an independent ally of Rome and left his kingdom jointly to his daughters and the Roman emperor in his will. However, when he died his will was ignored, and the kingdom was conquered. Boudica was beaten, her daughters were raped. Boudica lead 100,000 Iceni and an estimated 70,000–80,000 Romans and British were killed in the three cities.

In AD 542,King Arthur returned to Britain to fight with his nephew. He defeated his nephews group but got baldy wounded. Some people thought he was dead, some thought he was just sleeping.

Alfred the Great was growing up and the Viking were starting to settle in England. In 870, they began to attack Wessex. He tried to pay them money to go away but they returned, so Alfred built new ships, forts, he improved the army.

In 1191, the monks at the Glastonbury rebuilt their monastery destroyed by fire. The monks found the bones of a big man and a skull, which were thought belonged to King Arthur. Some people thought that the monks were only using the rebuilding of monastery to raise money.
