As Jem and Scout walk past a tree, they discover a small ball of twine in it. They wait for three days to see if it belongs to anyone. After those three days pass, they take it!

On their way home from school, Jem and Finch find two small dolls. Jem and Finch guess that Boo himself made them.

Jem and Scout decide to leave a note in the tree. The note thanked whoever placed those items in the tree. They soon find out that the tree was filled with cement. Mr. Radley himself filled the tree, arousing more suspicion.
