    Holy war between Christians and Muslims. It was a unsuccessful campaign and the Christians never won back Palestine. It created more trade routs.

    Renaissance Begins
    The renaissance started in Italy. It was the rebirth and the study of roman and greek art and culture. It brought beautiful paintings from artists such as De Vici and Michelangelo.

    100 Year War Begins

    100 Year War Begins
    War between England and France over the throne. Over the years many battles were fought between the two. Eventually England gave up, making France the winner.

    Black Death Begins in Europe
    The black plague was a disease that spread across Europe and killed thousands of people. This disease came in 2 different forms, one would liquefy your lungs and you would cough them up, another would give you huge black welts all over your body. Without the right treatments infected people would quickly spread the disease and in the process they would die.

    Zheng He was a Chinese voyager and explorer. He lead China to be the superpower of the Indian Ocean. He went on 7 major expeditions for the emperor looking for new trade routs for China.

    At 19 Joan was captured and accused of witchcraft and heresy. She was sentenced to death and burned at the stake.She was a french heretic and led her country into battle against England during the hundred year war.

    Gutenberg created a printing press with movable letters so that you could reuse the templates and create different words for each page. This made printing much faster and easier to make more than one copy at a time.Everything was spreading across countries faster because with this invention everything was getting printed faster than ever.

    King Henry was an interesting king, during his reign he married 6 times, one died, one survived, two beheaded, and one stayed. Henry was a Roman Catholic but because he was supreme he did whatever he wanted even if it went against his religion. He kept killing and marrying different women until one of them had a son that would carry on his legacy and beliefs as king.

    Columbus was sent on a journey to find a new route from Europe to Asia. He made 4 trips determined to find a direct way, instead he accidentally stumbled on the Americas. Columbus didn't know America existed so once he thought he found India he called the small islands around it the West Indies, today they are the Caribbean islands.

    Widespread exchange of plants, animals, culture, human populations, technology, and ideas. These routs went from the Americas to Europe. This exchange was also a period of biological and cultural exchanges between the new and old worlds.

    The Mona Lisa is probably one of the most famous paintings ever, it was a oil painting, painted by Leonardo De Vinci. It took him 4 years to finish the painting. Today the painting hangs in Paris and is still greatly admired.

    The 95 theses was a document written by Martin Luther. It was a list of 95 things that the church should think over and change. He mainly focused on the problem of indulgences, he also posted it on the doors of the church so that everyone would see it.

    Cortez first won over the trust of the Aztecs with gold and silver jewelry, artwork, and many other things. Then he started teaching them his religion. When Cortez left to go back to his home he left his secret weapon, disease. When Cortez returned months later the whole Aztec empire was dead so Cortex claimed it all for new spain.

    Suleyman reigned over the Ottoman Empire or what is present day Turkey. He was very powerful and is the most famous leader from that empire. He lead many battles and lead his military to be very successful.

    Cortez went to the Aztecs and the first thing he did was gain their trust by giving them guns, art pieces, and goods. Then he invited the emperor for dinner, he held him captive and killed him so that he could take over the empire. He then left for several months and when he came back all of the people living there were dead from the spread of disease, all of the land and money was then claimed for Spain.

    "The Prince" was a book written by Machiavelli. It was about how to gain political power and how a government should be run to keep a country at it's best. He explained that sometimes you can't please everybody and that as a leader you have to do whats best for the country even if people don't like it.

    Michelangelo begins painting the Sistine chapel
    The Sistine Chapel is a large chapel in Vatican City, and it is widely known for it's renaissance art. Michelangelo painted the entire ceiling of the chapel in extreme detail, with the 9 scenes of Genesis.

    A groups of officials in the church came together to form the Council of Trent. Over the years this group went over problems in the church and addressed them. This resulted in totally getting rid of indulgences.

    Queen Elizabeth reigned over England and Ireland from 1558 to 1603 when she died. She ruled during the golden age and her religion was Anglican. Queen Elizabeth was King Henry VIII daughter by his second wife.

    The samurai were professional trained Japanese warriors. They practiced Bushido, this required them to be disciplined and very loyal to their leader. If they failed to protect their lord they were expected to commit suicide rather than live with their shame.

    Shakespeare wrote many famous plays that focused on humans and their emotions. Some of his plays were based on tragedy and comedy. His plays had a massive lasting impact of the world and to this day they are still very well known.

    The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan for his favorite wife. He was married several times but when his favorite wife passed he built a huge tomb for her burial. He made very high taxes so that he could have enough money to build it.

The triangular trade had a big impact on this too because slaves were being brought to America from Africa and they were being traded for goods. These slaves were treated very poorly and many of them died and often killed them selves.

    He was a British statesman and colonial administrator. He was expelled from the church because he went against their will.

    The Opium War was a war between China and Britain. This war was caused because China wanted to suppress the opium trade. The illegal import of Opium to China caused people to get addicted and it was causing serious social and economic disruption, so the Chinese troops destroyed tons of imported chests of the drug.
