We stopped at the tourist trap in Wall and did some shopping. It was nice to get out of the car and stretch my legs.
-
We arrived in the Black Hills and checked into our hotel in Keystone, SD. After getting settled, we went for a walk down to the strip and went in the little shops.
-
On the second day of our vacation, we went to Rushmore Cave. This was a HUGE test of my claustrophobia
-
My cousin Ciara had her wedding in Custer, which is the main reason why we planned a Black Hills Vacation.
-
The day after my cousin got married, we went to Mount Rushmore which is exactly what I expected it to be: a big rock.
-
After Mount Rushmore, we went to yet another tourist trap: the Cosmos. I got so sick to my stomach.
-
The next day we went to Reptile Gardens. My brother was in heaven.
-
This day we drove through Needles Highway and admired the scenery and beauty of South Dakota. We also went to Sylvan Lake, where we hiked and swam at. The water was freezing cold due to the ice not completely melting off it until June!! We also went to the lighting of Mount Rushmore and my dad got to go up on stage when they recognized the current/past members of our armed forces which was pretty neat.
-
When we left the first time, the woman at the front gave us a free pass to come back again during our vacation, which we ended up doing.
-
My dad and I went zip lining because there was an adventure park across the way from our hotel and we had wanted to zip line ever since we made it there.
-
On the way home, we went through Spearfish Canyon and went on two more hikes to see waterfalls. Everyone was tired and crabby by this point so it wasn't too much fun.
