    The First Greek Kings

    The First Greek Kings
    The Mycenaean people from Asia took over and claimed Greece, they were the first Greek kings. They were also the first people to start speaking Greek.

    Individual States

    This was when the city-states became not part of Greece. The city-states often fought against each other. Some of the city-states were; Athens, Sparta, Corinth, Megara, Argos.

    The First Olympic Games
    In 776, was the first Olympic games. The games included events like, running, jumping, boxing, disc throwing, wrestling, equestrian racing and Pankration. Pankration was vicious it was a combination of boxing and wrestling and was very brutal. Any form of attack was allowed except for biting, gouging (poking people in the eye, nose or mouth), and attacking the genitals. The Greeks also participated in the Olympics naked.

    The Thermopylae War was where the Persians went to war with the Spartans. 300 Spartans managed to hold of 80,000 Persian soldiers for three days.

    1st Stage of the Peloponnesian War
    This was the 1st stage of the Peloponnesian War which was named after the Spartan King, Archidamus who lead the Spartans to attack Athens. Archidamus made annual attacks on Athens, but the Athenian armies defended the city.

    2nd Stage of the Peloponnesian War
    The 2nd Stage of the Peloponnesian War also known as 'The Peace of Nicias'. This stage was about what Nicias, a Athenian Politician. Finally after ten years at war, Athens and Sparta called a truce, which as called 'The Peace of Nicias'. The truce was broken when an Athenian commander convinced Athens to start attacking again. Athens attacked in 418 B.C, and in 415. Both attacks failed.

    Last/3rd Stage of the Peloponnesian War

    Last/3rd Stage of the Peloponnesian War
    This was the end of the Peloponnesian War. Sparta had won. Athens had lost ships, defenses and their best soldiers and could not fight anymore. Athens surrended and Sparta concurred Athens with complete success.
