around the year 437 BCE the Greek architect known as Mnesikles starts the construction of one of the most famous Greek structures to date, the propylaia. although construction was halted a few years later due to the peloponesiann war it still stands and is remembered as an amazing achievement for the Greeks in there very historical architectural lives. The ancient Greeks were polytheistic which means they believed in more than one god which is easy to believe because there are so many in ancient Greek history. They believed there was practically a God for everything in there life. (for example Zeus god of the sky) . there are probably hundreds if not more gods the Greeks worshiped but they did have a main group of Gods they looked up to like Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Ares, Hephaestus, Hestia, or Dionysus.
