The battle of salamis was a naval battle between Greece and Persia. It was fought in between the straights of Piraeus and Salamis.

This is more commonly known as the 300. It is when the Persians and Greece were at war. Whilst Greece was gathering men to fight in the war 300 Spartans led by Leodonus went to hold the Persians off. Although completely outnumbered the Spartans managed to hold the Persians off until betrayed.

The parthenon was a temple built for the Goddess Athena. Athena was the patron of Athens. Athens is even named after Athena. The parthenon had a giant gold statue of Athena holding the goddess of victory Nike. The people of Athens would come here to worship Athena.

This was made as a way off pleasing the god of wine Dionysus. Men would dress up and pretend to be characters to please Dionysus. They would perform to a large amphitheatre filled to the brim with spectators come from all over Greece to watch.

This is when Alexander the Great fought and defeated Persia and Egypt making Greece a more and more powerful empire. This allowed them to defend them self form invading countries and not fall for a while.

Greece was attacked when Alexander the great died. When Greece was attacked by the ever growing empire of Rome it started to fall. Rome's disciplined soldiers was just to much for Greece to handle and it started to fall being taken over by Rome.
