Timeline Notes: Alexander the Great By CDurr 356 BCE Alexander the Great is born. 340 BCE Philip II of Macedon is at war, he wants to control Greece. 338 BCE Philip controls most of Greece. 338 BCE Cleopatra and Philip marry. 336 BCE Festivals in honor of gods before expansion to Asia. 336 BCE Philip is assassinated, Alexander becomes king. 335 BCE Alexander looks for a prophecy and it says “You are invincible”. 333 BCE Alexander finds his Persian enemy at Ises. 332 BCE Alexander leads his army in Egypt and becomes a Pharaoh. 331 BCE Alexander realizes that he must take down Persia in order to move to Asia. He beats him in a huge battle to move in. 330 BCE Alexander rules all of Asia. 330 BCE Alexander gets married to Roxane. 324 BCE Alexanders close friend, Hephaestus, dies of an unknown illness. 323 BCE Alexander dies of an unknown cause (illness, drinking, arrow shot, etc.) 323 BCE Alexander’s body is hijacked in Egypt.
