    Basic Integration
In class today, we reviewed basic integration. I was glad we went over the arcfunctions ebcause I could never keep straight which ones had the (1/a) in front, but now i'm pretty sure I can comfortably remember (all of them but arccos and arcsin). We also reviewed reimann sums and other methods of approximating area under the curve. We breifly mentioned the limit definition of the integral but personally I would be more comfortable if we went a bit more in depth, perhaps 7 minutes more.

  • More Integration!

    More Integration!
Today we reviewed more integration and techniques. These include power rule, trig, u-sub, log rule, and rational functions. We discussed the average value theorem and how to find the average value of a function over an interval. We also looked over growth and decay, which was really good because I didn't remember the general formulas. Same goes for logarithmic curves. I would like to go over Newton's rule of cooling as well
  • Series!

    Series!
Today I spent most of my time makeing up AP problems, but it appears we also covered series. I'm really glad we did this because I was stunned at how much I didn't remember
  • Test!

    Test!
Today we took the test on polar which I think went remarkably well (knock on wood). But I also went over the review sheets we were given. I realized I still don't ahve a very firm grasp on the second fundamental rule of calculus. I think I understand what I'm doing perhaps 60% of the time.
  • More Series!

    More Series!
Today we reviewed Taylor Series and Taylor Polynomials. I was able to remember all of the important functions, but I forgot the shortcuts for how to find the interval of convergence. I also think I finally understand what the remainder theorem is, which is good! I still truggle with the second fundamental theorem of calculus.
  • AP Multiple Choice!

    AP Multiple Choice!
Today we started our partner multiple choice test. I think Eitan and I did relatively well. We finished what we considered a reasonable amount of work for the time given. My only concern is I am still very weak on the second fundamental rule of calculus and series, even after reviewing this weekend. I also don't know what's due tomorrow.
  • AP Multiple Choice Part 2!

    AP Multiple Choice Part 2!
We finished the multiple choice today with enough time to mull over one problem for 15 minutes. If possible, it would be nice if we reviewed absolute values in the derivitive, because Eitan and I weren't really sure which graph it was. I really need to focus on series, I think, because I feel increasingly less comfortable with them. I still don't know what's due tomorrow.
  • Advanced Integration!

    Advanced Integration!
Today we went over advanced integration techniques including PARTS and LIPET. We also reviewed partial fractiones.
  • More Series!

    More Series!
Today we we quickly reivewed all infinite series. I feel a lot better about Taylor and McLaurin series.
  • Got all Old Tests Back

    Got all Old Tests Back
Today we got back the two full length AP tests we took. I got 5's on both, so I feel a lot more confident!
  • Wasn't Here!

    Wasn't Here!
Today I was taking two APs so I wasn't in class but I heard we went over the most missed provblems. I checked over my work from the past test and I found several mistakes that I fixed, so it was good I checked.
  • Walk Around Campus!

    Walk Around Campus!
Today we played some sort of a game where we all filled in different parts of a paper on commonly forgotten forumlas, which was really helpful because I had a couple brain freezes. We also went over helpful tips for the AP. I feel prepared.
  • Superbowl!

    Superbowl!
I think I did a really good job (knock on wood)! There was a lot more AB stuff on there than BC, in my opinion, which was nice becasue AB is really easy. I felt comfortable iwht almost all of the multiple choice and all of the free response, with plenty of time.
