  • Cyrus McCormick invents the grain reaper

    It could harvest more grain than five men using the earlier cradles. Cyrus McCormick built a reaper factory in Chicago.
  • Steel Moldboard Plow developed

    John Deere invented it mostly because of farmers in the Midwest. It helped to "tame the land."
  • Corn picker invented

    Edmund Quincy invented it. It pulls the ears of corns from the stalks and husks.

    Mendel artifically crosspollinated pea plants with different traits. Gregor Mendel was one of the earliest people to conduct scientific research int he field of genetics.
