  • RAP

    RAP
This thing called Rap (one of the six elements of HIP-HOP) came about in the late 70s and this culture completely changed my life. I would become HIP-HOP.

  • Internet Era

    Internet Era
The internet -- in the 90s the internet began to boom! My generation has been raised in the center of technology. Internet guides a lot of the things we do, much of what we've learned, and already has a huge grip on the future. We can now communicate with people millions of miles away, access to information is much easier, and ultimately with internet many things have become easier. Such as shopping, research, communication, dating, etc.
  • 9-1-1 WTC DISASTER

    9-1-1 WTC DISASTER
9/11 -- Was huge and I believe it changed the world and has greatly affected the foundation of our society. Though society had already eatablished their hegemonic ways 9/11 I believe helped to expand hegemonic beliefs of those from the Middle East. 9/11 Affected many families and was a tragic time for many of us. During this time I was in the 6th grade in Detroit, MI our school received bomb threats and we were released shortly after.
  • President Obama

    President Obama
Obama -- 2008 First Black President! This was the first time I could vote and ultimately the beginning of my political career. A&T had several forums and individuals to dorm storm to ensure that we were knowledgeable and ready to vote. This was a pivitol moment for me because reality of the changes in the world had sunk in. Even though the world was changing we were exposed to the simple minded individuals that have "power", letting us know that getting him elected was only the beginning.

Moved from Michigan To NorthCarolina 2007
2007 Moving from Michigan to North Carolina changed the way that I looked at people and how I interact with them. The change from the Midwest down to NC was kind of a culture shock, but in a good way that I believe shaped me to become more open to new ways of living.
  • NCAT 2009

    NCAT 2009
2009- Attending an HBCU opened up my eyes to many different people, cultures and customs. Being a part of the legacy of this school means a lot and shapes a major part of who I am personally and professionally. My experience at the university pushed me beyond my comfort zone and limits far more than I ever bargained for. An experience and life of lessons that are priceless.

    Birth of my Daughter 2010
2010 The birth of a child and becoming a mother brought forth a growth and maturity as a woman and as a person. I then became a protector, teacher, and learner in ways that were never imaginable. I am a proud mother and I strive to be better everyday. This is an experience that I can't explain and a love that I would not change for the world.
  • Prayer Dance

    Prayer Dance
2006-2014 Dance ministry has been a big part of my life and a way of release for me. When I dance and worship for God I’m also ministering to others in the hope that the presence of the Holy Spirit is transferring. Becoming a new creature in Christ has been the best thing ever for me and I’m glad that others can see that even though it is challenging. I truly enjoy dance and living for Christ and I am excited about the changes in Who I AM!
