    The League of Nations divides the land left by the fallen Ottoman Empire among France and Britain. These mandates would be supervised by the League and their mother countries until ready for independence.
    The mandates were Syria and Lebanon (French), Iraq, and Palestine (British). The latter would serve as the Jewish homeland mentioned before.
  • Arrival of Hitler and the Nazi's

    Nazis come to dominate Europe and over 154,000 Jewish emigrants flee to Palestine in effect.

    Massive Genocide Targets Jews

    World War II. The Holocaust. The Nazi party, led by Adolf Hitler, conduct a massive massive genocide on Jewish people. 6M European Jews alone were killed by the end.
  • Jewish Minority in Palestine

    At this time, the population of Palestine was recorded to have a minority of Jews (33%) and a majority of Arabs (65%).
  • Palestine is Partitioned

    The United Nations General Assembly declares plans to partition, or divide, the country of Palestine. Two separate states would be created for Jews and Arabs, respectively.

    Britain gave up its mandate of Palestine.
  • Creation of Israel

    Head of the Palestinian Jews David Ben-Gurion declares the independence and establishment of Israel. This was to be the Jewish state in Palestine. They welcomed Arabs of the state.
