In this chapter we are introduced to NBA All-Star Dwayne Wade and he talks throughout the chapter about many close family members. Dwayne shares the fact that he is granted custody of his kids with his teammates and they all are happy for him! He addresses his parent's marrieage and later divorce and how they handled working together for the sake of their children. Dwayne shares how he keeps in contact with his sons while he is on the road and makes a poing of asking them, "How was your day?" so the kids feel like they can talk to him about anything. After living with his father for several years now, to get away from the hectic house he visits his grandmother often. This chapter is all about Dwayne's bumpy journey to Marquette University. This journey was bumpy due to his inability to score adaquetely on his ACT and having to red shirt his freshman year so he could play sophomore year. Despite his troubles his coach, Tom Crean, stands by his player through the whold process and when his hits the court puts all his faith in him. Dwayne builds a strong relationship with Coach Crean as a coach and a personal friend. 27 pages, 159 total -

He is continually working on builiding a trusting and safe environment for his kids to be able to come and talk to him about anything. Dwayne also reflects on the time when he was in Italy and is given the news that his girlfriend, Siouvaughn, is pregnant. When his coach notices something wrong, Dwayne confides his fears with him and fears he will have to leave college to support the child. His mother is behind bars after turning herself in from escaping custody four years earlier. Dwayne decides to enter the NBA draft The night before the draft, instead of partying with everyone else, D goes out with Coach Crean and has dinner and talks about the future. For the draft he ends up going #5 to the Miami Heat, behind Lebron, Darko, Melo, and Chris Bosh. Shaq arrives to play for the Heat and D puts his marital problems behind him to focus on bringing a championship to Miami. Lisa Joseph also starts her monumental position in D's life. With the theme of "15 Strong" in their minds and a vat of personal quotes from players, his 3rd season in the NBA, the Heat defeated the Dallas Maverics in the NBA Finals. With the NBA Lockout dragging on Dwayne and some other players are getting in shape and organizing exhibition games. Dwyane's marriage is futher crumbling, with Siouvaughn making ridiculous claims of assault and cheating. To compile that the Heat did not have a very good season after the championship, and won only 15 games two years after winning it all. The season is back, Lebron, Chris and D are playing their second season as the Big 3 after coming off a finals loss into a shortened season. D is fighting for his children and finding it extremely difficutl to see them with the crazy things his ex is doing. He files for sole custody and after a grueling battle is rewarded with his children. Joyous days come when his nephey moves in with him as well and the Heat win the 2011-12 NBA Finals, this time with Bron as MVP. 36 pages, 330 total
