A Day at Sea

Week 1

Sep 12, 1530

We left the port at the crack of Dawn. The day has been long. We stocked up on supplies before we left. I cant wait to get to our next destination...South Asia. Our finale destination is America.

Week 3

Oct 3, 1530

We have finally made it to Southern Asia. We had to ration our food. I got a peice of hardtack and two scoops of beans. Last week we went into a terrible storm. We lost some men but we carried on.

Week 4

Oct 13, 1530

We have barely any food left. We did not think about how long it would take to get to America. The ship has sprung a leak, We patched it up using spare wood. We will have to stop somewhere soon in order to survive.

Week 6

Nov 28, 1530

We made a stop in central Africa to get our boat fixed. As the Captain was making sure that happened I explored the land. It was a place of poverty. After a couple of hours we sailed once more.

Week 8

Dec 10, 1530

We have made it to south africa after a long journey. We are stopping to resupply. We lost more men at sea, because the storms are getting worst as we move south. We stared out with 60 men, now we have 47. I hope that we dont lose any more men.

Week 13

Jan 21, 1531

We are still at sea...the days are long and hard. The members on the ship are doing well, but we are almost all starved. We have little to no food left. We have not lost anymore men do to weather or disease. I hope it stays that way.

Week 16

Feb 13, 1531

We have almost made it to America. We have made a stop on the north east side of Africa, the ship is in a good condition. We almost ran out of food last week. We are now totally out of food and nearly no money left for food.

Week 18

Feb 26, 1531

We have plenty of food and we have not encountered any pirates yet. We think that the trip will only take about a month or so to make it to America. We have not gotten lost and we are on the right track. To America we come.

Week 21

Mar 7, 1531

We took a wrong turn and ended up going in a circle. So we had to turn around as soon as we found out. The captain says we should be to America within a few weeks. Many of the crew members and I are excited about going to a new land, that we have never seen before.

Week 25

Apr 5, 1531

We finally made it to America. It is a beautiful Country and we have made friend with the natives. We can relax for a while then we have to prepare to look for a place to settle. I am very glad I was one of many to take this opportunity to come travle to see this great County.
