    Egypt Conquered by Arabs
    4,000 men were sent to fight against Egypt in 639 AD. In 640 AD 5,000 other men joined and together they conquered the Byzantine. These men then went to the city of Alexandria who surrendered to the Arabs. Christians were excused from military duties and free to the worshiping of their religion.

    Rosetta Stone Discovered
    In 1798, 167 scientist were brought to a French founded institute in Cairo to prepare for Napoleon's campaign. In 1799 the stone was discovered. The Rosetta Stone restores tax priveliges from the ancient times. Scholars say that there must still be several copies of the Stone but they have not been discovered yet.

    In 1922 Howard Carter discovered the tomb of King Tut. King Tut was crowned king at the age of nine and died when he was abot 18 or 19. King Tut's tomb was so extravagant that it took many men to move the mummy. King Tut is considered to be one of the most important figures in Ancient Egypt history.

    The Six Day War was fought between Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt. Egypt's president got rid of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) from the Sinai Peninsula. This started the Six Day War. In the end Israel won control of the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.
