  • The American Revolution

    The American Revolution
    The American Revolution was the war between the American (British) colonies over the colonies independence from the Crown. During this war France aided the colonists and helped the colonies win their independence officially in 1783.
  • The Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis Court Oath
    The Tennis Court Oath was created during an assembly of the Third Estate class where they vowed to meet until the King created a new constitution. King Louis (the 16th) approved of the National Assembly but then had Versailles (their place of meeting) surrounded with troops.
  • Fall of the Bastille

    Fall of the Bastille
    The Bastille was a royal armoury and a prison in which the people of the Third Estate attacked to free thr very few prisoners and to collect all of the armory to use during the French Revlotuion. This was the starting point of the French Revolution.
  • The Great Fear

    The Great Fear
    The Great Fear was a wave of Third Estate riots that were caused by the ecnomic difficulties and the power of the King. The Third Estate mobilized themselves to defend themselves, and to be able to attack back, during these riots
  • The Declaration of the Rights of Man

    The Declaration of the Rights of Man
    The Declaration of the Rights of Man was created by the National Assebly. In this declaration it is said that the rights of all men and citizens should have rights like, "Men are born free and remain free and equal in rights," (Kreis).
  • The Women's March

    The Women's March
    The Women's March was a march of mainly Thrid Estate women in Versailles on King Louis's (the 16th) residence. They were aiming to petition the King and the government to solve the bread shortages. Other women aimed to get rid of the King completely.
  • The Execution of the King

    The Execution of the King
    The King was convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers; the French National Convention put him on trial. On January 21st, 1793 the King was excuted by the guillotine.
  • The Reign of Terror Starts

    The Reign of Terror Starts
    The Reign of Terror was the period during the French Revolution, when there was an immense amount of executions mainly led by Robespierre. During the "Terror" 17,000 were executed using the guillotine.
  • The Execution of Robespierre

    The Execution of Robespierre
    Robespierre encouraged execution using the guillotine for the suspected enemies during the French Revolution. The National Assembly attempted to arrest Robespierre and his followers, but he escaped and fled. The next fay he was found and executed by the National Assembly, for encouraging the many executions.
  • The Directory Established

    The Directory Established
    The Directory Established contained five men who had executive power in France according to their constitution. It is believed that it ended the French Revolution.
