    Leaving Madagascar

    Leaving Madagascar
We get our mighty ship the "Victoria" ready for a long and hard journey at sea. Our Captain is very mean to us lower ranking deck hands. it is very windy and I start to regret signing up for this expedition around Africa.

    First day at sea

    First day at sea
This first day has been both mind blowing and horrible at the same time. Both my captain and crewmembers treat me like trash just because i am one of the lowest ranking crewman. I also almost got in a fight today with my captain. but hey im getting paid to be leave Madagascar. I hear that we will be making our way to Grande Comore port to get provisions, then we will go back to Sofala.

    Grande Comore

    Grande Comore
We easily arrive in The Grande Comore island port after a short six days at sea. Though it was short it feels like a month on a ship of this size. Especially with a horrible captain and greedy crewmen that only care about themselves, except yours truly of course. Grande Comore is a very beautiful island with many trees and clear water with little to no natives.

    Next stop Sofala

    Next stop Sofala
We are back on the sea after taking a day to get all necessary provisions for the long trip to Brazil and beyond. I have made friends with some of the crewmen while at the port so ship life is doing a lot better now. Grande Comora was one of the prettiest places i have seen in my life. I hear that the next port is much different.

    Sofala

    Sofala
We stop in Sofala to get even more provisions and take a short break. Sofala is very different than Madagascar. I have never been to this part of Africa. There are a lot more people here and they seem very intersted in our crew for some reason. It is not as pretty and peaceful as Grande Comore but it is still a nice place. I hear next stop wont be until Brazil! which will take at least 50 days at sea.

Pass the Cape of Good Hope

Pass the Cape of Good Hope
Its been a month since i last wrote in my log. This past month has been the most horrid experience of my life We are running short on food and supplies and we are almost out of rum(which is making a lot of the men cry). This is the worst sailing i have ever experienced, there are storms constantly. There have been many times that the ship has almost capsized. We have stopped in different parts of South Africa just to rest. I dont know if we will make to Brazil.

    Brazil

    Brazil
We have finally madeit to Brazil! Having had no food for nearly four days it felt like hell! We rushed the beaches like rabid dogs plundering every eating establishment in the newly found port. With every other mouthful of food and drink i take i cant help but look at the beauty of this place and the people around me.Most of the people here are Portugese and we can relate to them easily. This place is truly amazing, but I fear for our next voyage i can only hope our next journey wont be as bad.

    New Adventure

    New Adventure
I have recieved word that we will be trying to make our way to New Foundland, but we will first stop in the near halfway point at Cape Verde. I dont know if I will be able to make the voyage but i must if I want to get paid. i still dont know the reason of this voyage because of the pig-headedness of the Captain of this great vessel.

    Almost to Cape Verde

    Almost to Cape Verde
The Crew and i have become good friends due to the many voyages we have just gone on together accept the captain. I am scared of the next journey to New Foundland for the weather and sea I hear becomes very different and it will take almost a month to get there from Cape Verde.

    Cape Verde

    Cape Verde
We arrive in Cape Verde and meet the newly colonised Portugese people and taking a well needed rest before the journey to New Foundland. I will be ready for anything on this next voyage and I feel I can do anything on the sea due to my newly equipped knowledge of the open sea and the great vessels that sail her waters.
