Hippies was a counterculture to the "normal" life style mainly by the youth. Hippies created their own music, communities, and used drugs such as LSD. Woodstock is an example of a music festival towards hippies with new revolutionary artists. -

Zip Codes or Zone Improvement Plan were introduced by the United States Postal Service, This was to improve the mail efficiency their for "zipping along". The Zip Code has been modified and improved since its first release. In 1967 it was made mandatory to use the Zip Code system.

Assassination of John F. Kennedy
President During the heart of the cold war JFK was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. The investigations of the assassination lasted 10 months and was deemed the reason of the assassination was a conspiracy. However the Assassin was killed before police could arrest and take him to trial.

The Black Panthers are a African American civil rights group. The original purpose was to protect blacks from police brutality, and to police the police. Eventually they turned into a revolutionary group wanting to arm all african americans.

Watergate
Watergate was a scandal by the Nixon Administration of breaking into the DNC (Democratic National Committe) and wiretapping the headquarters. Nixon allegedly was not aware of the break in but was involved in the cover up of the event. This lead to his downfall and eventual resignation before congress could impeach him.

Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded microsoft and created its MS-DOS Operating software. They then created a graphical extension for MS-DOS creating Windows. The release of Windows 1 was every successful. -

John Lennon was most notable for being in the beetles inspiring and promoting this new type of music. He was also a "rebel" in his music and art as he was a strong advocate for peace. John Lennon criticized the Vietnam War, this aggravated Richard Nixon's administration and attempted to deport him.
