    The catholic church was challeneged by critics and as a result new christian churches were established.
  • English revolution

    Highlights ideas that a king or queen shouldn't rule by divine right, but by vote of public.
  • Age of enlightenment

    The power of christianity remained strong in England despite the reform. Also a period of new geographical ideas.
  • The American war

    North American colonies rebelled against british rule. Radical political ideas were put forward.
  • The French Revolution

    King Louis XVI was disposed of and in came a republican government with elected representatives.
