    Event 1: "The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria".
    Sarajevo, Bosnia
    Small bomb misses the car with the arch duke in the am thrown by Nedeljko Cebrinovic a member of the young Serbian nationalist movement.
    The Duke wants to visit the victims.
    The arch dukes driver makes the wrong turn and ends up on the same street as Gavrilo Princip who is a coconspirator of the earlier assassination attempt and he comes up and shoots arch duke Ferdinand and his wife Sophie.
    They both die within the hour. Duke got shot in the neck his wife in her stomach.

    Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany states that the nation of Austria-Hungary has the support of the German Nation. This is crucial because Austria need a very large amount of support from Germany to be able to withstand a war.

    At 6:00 in the evening of July 23rd, 1914 Baron Giesl von Gieslingen, ambassador of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to Serbia, delivers an ultimatum to the Serbian foreign ministry. The terms were the Austrian-Hungarian government wanted to do their investigation into the assignation rather than taking the Serbians information. They are also to suppress all anti-Austrian propaganda and to take steps to root out and eliminate terrorist organizations within its borders.

    July 24th Nikola P. Pašić and his fellow ministers debated for hours on how to respond. After learning that Russia would support them in their actions, they somewhat welcomed war. But they did not want to be blamed for one therefore they came up with a response that would make it seem like they were the victim. And the rejection was sent on July 25th.

    The declaration of war was sent through open telegram and written in French. The arrival of the telegram was handled in a calm manner with Nikola Pašić communicated with the French minister.

    Russia mobilizes for war and Germany tells them to stand down
    Russia had been pre mobilizing for war for some time now and now that foreign relations had placed these nations at odds the German nation communicated with the Russians to stand down.

    August 1st France mobilized its armed forces in support of Russia and that same day Germany mobilized and declared war on Russia.
    Germany declares war on Russia only days after telling them to stand down. And on this day France and Belgium begin full military mobilization.

    Germany declares war on France and begins their journey to France for battle. This led to the invasion of neutral Belgium because the most direct route for efficiency is through a small piece of land that happens to be a neutral nation.

    Germany marches across the border through Belgium and Britain give the Germans an ultimatum to leave; they do not do so therefore on this day Britain declares war on Germany.
    The most direct route for the German army to get to France was directly through the neutral nation of Belgium. When the German army crossed the border into Belgium this enabled Britain to send an ultimatum to Germany to leave Belgium in which the Germans did not agree. This is the day that Britain declared war on Germany.

    On April 6th, 1917 the United States formally enters the first world war by a us senate vote of 82 to 6 and a us house of representatives vote of 373 to 50. This comes after several things that attributed to the us involvement in the great war such as the sinking of the Lusitania and the Zimmermann telegram.
