    Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofía Chotek were shot and killed by members of "The Black Hand", a Serbian terrorist group.
  • Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia.

    After the Archduke and heir to the throne Fraz Ferdinand was killed by the Black hand, a Serbian terrorist group.
  • Germany delares war on Russia.

    It was known that Russia was going to defend Serbia, so Germany declared war o Russia so as to "defend" Austria-Hungary.

    Britained went on defending the other two members of "The Triple Entente", (Russia and France) from Germany.

    Short-term consequence:
    Between 1917 and 1923 there where lots of revolutions.
    Communistic revolutions in: Russia, Central Europe, USA and China.
    Non-communstic revolutions in: Greece, Ireland and Mexico.

    This was a long-term consequence. Europe countries had to pay all the cost of the war and to repair and build again their countries and economy. This affected especially to Germany as they had to pay the reparations signed in The Treaty of Versailles.
