Germany and Austria-Hungary made an alliance
In 1882 Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy made a triple alliance. Italy soon backed out of the alliance and became neutral because they didn't want to be involved in war. So Germany and Austria-Hungary were the only ones left in the alliance. -
Entente Cordiale
Britain realized the Germany was building up a big military. This was militarism. Britain became allies with France. This was to counterweight the German Empire. This alliance was called the Entente Cordiale. -
The Italo-Turkish War
The Italo-Turkish war revealed how weak the Ottoman Empire was. This did not pose any threat towards Europe or its peace. This did show how the Ottoman Empire was dieing. This war was between 1911-1912. -
Balkan Wars
The Balkan league was formed against the Ottoman Empire. The Balkan league consisted of Serbia, Greece, Montenegro, and Bulgaria. The Balkan league took the Ottoman Empire's territory. They spilt the conquered territory between themselves. In June Bulgaria got in a dispute and lost within a month and had to give up Macedonia. The Balkan Wars feared Austria-Hungary and made them want to take action against Serbia so they wouldn't get anymore power. -
Assassination of Archdale Franz Ferdinand of Austria
a conspiracy group in Seria assassinated Archdale Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Austria-Hungary used this as an excuse to start war against Seria which was WW1. -
July Ultimatum
Austria-Hungary gave impossible demands on purpose to Serbia. These demands were not met so they declared war on Serbias for assassinating Archdale Franz Ferdinand of Austria. This was the start of World War 1.
